Call the Meeting to Order
J. Sims called a meeting of the Culture Committee of Shining Rock Classical Academy to order on Thursday Apr 10, 2025 at 11:13 AM.

Approve Minutes
J. Sims made a motion to approve the minutes from NEST Meeting on 03-13-25.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.
II. Fundraising

Current NEST Funds

World's Finest Chocolate
- ~20 children have not turned in their box yet
- We've raised $5,000 even if the money for these boxes does not get turned in
- Sent messages to individual teachers regarding individual students who have yet to turn in money
- Sent back 152 boxes to World's Finest Chocolate
- World's Finest Chocolate representative said that sales were down across the county
- Rewards for students who sold boxes
- Activities this afternoon
- Mechanical pig races
- Ice cream
- Silly stringing Mr. Morgan
- Prizes ordered and expected to be distributed after Spring Break
- Activities this afternoon

Book Fair
- Buy-one-get-one books
- Only books
- May 5, 6, 7 (and maybe 8 and 9)
- We will not get funds from this
- To promote summer reading
- Dog from library will be attending
- Falcon mascot will be attending
- Scholastic will pick up leftovers between May 9 and 12

IV. Celebrations

Principal Celebration Day
- May 1
- Mr. Morgan and Mrs. Jenkins would like lunch (they choose and we deliver)

Receptionist Appreciation Day
- May 14
- Travis, Courtney, and Alex would like lunch (they choose and we deliver)
C.
Teacher Appreciation Week
- Week of May 5-9
- We pick a day for breakfast and a day for lunch
- Faculty had a lunch choice of potato bar and salad bar, tacos, and homecooked BBQ-style
- They chose tacos
- We need to select a vendor
- Last year we spent ~$1,200 ($1,100 and we tipped $100)

- Middle School student council wants to host an end-of-year celebration
- They have asked us to serve snow cones

Teacher Lunch Relief
- Notifications scheduled to be sent out on ParentSquare pending administration approval
- Sign-ups would be done via a public-facing signup oriented website (signup.com?)
