Welcome to the SRCA Falcon's Board site.
SRCA is an entity separate and autonomous from the local school district and governments. The authorizer is the North Carolina State Board of Education and is overseen by the North Carolina Office of Charter Schools. SRCA Board members serve the school voluntarily.
Key Roles and Responsibilities of Charter School Board Members:
- Monitoring the school’s academic outcomes
- Establishing, revising, and monitoring policies and procedures
- Overseeing and approving the use of operational and capital finances
- Ensure that the provisions of the school’s charter and the corporation’s Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws are being followed
- Ensure school facilities meet the physical and instructional needs of students, teachers, and administrators in accordance with the school's values/vision/mission and goals
- Oversee grievances in accordance with Grievance Policy 1999
SRCA regular board and committee meetings are open to the public.
Regular board meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month, at 6:30 pm, Russ Avenue campus (2150 Russ Ave, Waynesville, NC 28786), unless otherwise posted.
Public Comment is offered at the beginning of regular board meetings (see Policy 2500 for guidelines).
Special meetings may also be called with a 48-hour advance notice.
