Call the Meeting to Order
J. Sims called a meeting of the Culture Committee of Shining Rock Classical Academy to order on Wednesday Sep 9, 2026 at 11:10 AM.

Approve Minutes
J. Sims made a motion to approve the minutes from NEST Meeting on 08-12-26.
A. Aldossary seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.
II. Fundraising

Donut Sale
- Still deciding who to source donuts from
- Will sell during student dropoff on October 14
- Far left lane will be for donuts
C.
Book Fair
- Next week 9/14 through 9/18
- Open until 3:30 each day but closed on Wednesday (9/16) to accommodate blood drive
- Supplies arrive tomorrow (9/10), planning to set up on Friday afternoon
- Will set up in the corner of the gym, per usual
- Notice sent to families with volunteer signup
- Notice to classrooms for visit signup still pending send

Bingo Night
- Nov 20th from 5 to 9 PM
- Food trucks
- Glazed & Infused for sweets
- TBD for meals
- Materials
- Still need to buy bingo books and some blotters
- Have ~30 blotters left over from last time
- Price donations - we need more!
- J. Sims to arrange borrowing tables & chairs from FUMC again

Storage
NEST cannot afford to pay for a storage unit; we are seeking other solutions (the majority of the required storage is for uniforms) and we will likely sell/donate the NEST Falcon tree because SRCA already has one

A.
Movie Night
- Oct 23 @ 5:30 PM (we are starting earlier this time because the low attendance of the previous movie night may be improved my an earlier start time)
- Last time, it was about $160 for the pizzas ($7.99 each)
- J. Sims to send out a poll via ParentSquare for movie choice (Hocus Pocus vs Goosebumps)
