PUBLIC COMMENT AT EQUITAS ACADEMY BOARD MEETINGS – An opportunity for the public to address the Board will be provided at the conclusion of the agenda. Members of the public who wish to speak on any item are requested to identify themselves and indicate on which agenda item they wish to speak. The Board will provide an opportunity for the public to speak for a maximum of three (3) minutes, unless granted additional time at the discretion of the Board. Testimony shall be limited in content to matters pertaining to Equitas Academy. The Board may not take any action on matters discussed during the public testimony period that are not listed on the agenda. Brown Act Compliance: Agenda posted at School.

Board findings pursuant to Government Code Section 54953(e)

Motion to operate in accordance with Govmt Code section 54953(e)(1)(B):  The Charter School Board of Directors determines, in accordance with Government Code Section 54953(e)(1)(B), that meeting in person would present imminent risks to the health or safety of attendees.  Pursuant to Government Code Section 54953(e)(3), the Board has also reconsidered the circumstances of the State of Emergency declared by the Governor on March 4, 2020, and finds the State of Emergency continues to directly impact the ability of the Directors to meet safely in person and/or that State or local officials continue to impose or recommend measures to promote social distancing

T. Bell made a motion to motion made to operate within this code.
C. Osuna seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

T. Bell made a motion to approve the minutes from Governance Committee Meeting on 11-09-22.
M. Gomez seconded the motion.

'23 Board Retreat: Survey Results

Board discussed options of location for the sprint 2023 Board Retreat as well as related vision, goals, and experiences.

Board Growth Plan

Board reviewed the profiles of potential new committee candidates .  Following recommendation of the staff, committee approved the process to have final discussions with candidates about finalizing their potential commitment.
