Video/Audio Conferencing Notice: Pursuant to Governor Abbott’s Temporary Suspension of Open Meetings Laws issued on March 16, 2020, the April 28, 2020 TCAA Emergency Meeting of the Board will be conducted via video conference on the Zoom Video Conference platform, which will be audible to the Board and public and allow for two-way communication. The Board Chair, presiding officer, or trustees will not be physically present at one location, but a quorum will be required for the meeting on the video conference or phone.

Approve January 14, 2020 Minutes
Charles Reid made a motion to approve January 14, 2020 meeting minutes.
Michael Wellbaum seconded the motion.

IV. Parent Club Updates
A.
FWAFA PTSO
- Class of 2020 Seniors.
- Had yard signs printed for each Class of 2020 Senior and placed in their front yard with parental permission
- Have unspent funds due to closing so if anyone has any ideas of other Senior activities like the yard signs that PTSO can do, please let us know
- Kids Take Over the School Funds
- Have not yet received check from the online auction site used but have been reaching out via email and phone to find out why
- Thinking of advancing the money to the school from PTSO's current funds while continuing to work on getting a check from the online auction site
B.
TeSA PTO
- TeSA PTO conducted a Zoom Board meeting on April 1st.
- TeSA PTO Board Open Positions will be presented on May 1st. Nominations are due May 15th. TeSA PTO will vote on a Special Zoom Meeting on May 18th.
- Announcement of TeSA PTO Board 2020-2021 is May 29th. New Board meets on June 3rd @ 10am, unless changed due to current circumstances.
- TeSA PTO now has created a platform for online payment options available to make payment installments for the $85 supply fee. We hope this helps ease financial concerns due to the COVID-19.
- TeSA staff voted on the Spirit Shirt for 2020-2021.
- TeSA PTO will have a Virtual Teacher Appreciation Week May 4-8.
- What are the future plans to move TeSA to a K through 5th grade school, if any?
- Before Spring Break, TeSA received quotes for the installation of a fence around the perimeter of the school property. How will TCAA help with the cost of the fence?
- We would like to thank TCAA for stepping into action to form crisis schooling quickly and we appreciate your support.

TBC Parent Club
- Stephanie Stoner has stepped in to replace Danny Faught as TBC Parent Club President
- Trying to figure out how to do officer elections during this time of closure
- Belguim/France trip to the World Games was cancelled due to COVID-19
- Continue to work with students virtually on music/classes
V. Financials
A.
FY21 Audit Engagement Letter
- June budget audit will be done remotely
- Audit cost for FY21 remains the same as FY20 at $45,500.00
Michael Wellbaum made a motion to approve FY21 audit engagement letter with Freemon, Shappard, & Story, CPAs.
Leslie Scott seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
B.
FY20 Budget Amendments
- Because of the current COVID-19 situation, there is nothing concrete coming from TEA yet
- We should know more when we present budget amendments at the August 2020 meeting
Mary A. Zimmerman made a motion to approve FWAFA, TCAA, and TeSA budget Amendments.
Charles Reid seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
VI. Academics
A.
ESC Region 11 FY21 Contracts
- Services will remain the same as purchased for FY20
- Both campuses saw a slight increase in cost for these same services from Region 11
Daniel Bates made a motion to approve FWAFA and TeSA ESC Region 11 FY21 Contracts.
Leslie Scott seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
VII. Board Committee Updates
A.
Team Impact: Conservatories and Community
- Cancelled April 2020 committee meeting
- Postponed April 15, 2020 Advisory Council meeting
- Next meeting is May 14th and will include discussion on the new Music Conservatory opening Fall 2020 and potential new date for Advisory Council meeting
B.
Team Impact: Academies
- Cancelled April 2020 meeting
- No updates since last board meeting
C.
Resource Development
- Gold Standard event cancelled earlier this month is rescheduled for September 12, 2020 at the Mopac event center
- May 5th will be our first ever Artsathon Live! virtual fundraiser which includes student, staff, alumni, and possibly parent performances; it will run for approximately 3 to 5 hours live on TCAA's Facebook page
- Since school closures, TCAA has written grants for over $80,000 to help recoup cost lost from performance cancellations, Gold Standard event postponement, etc.
