Vision, Mission and Core Values
Vision: To develop globally minded citizens who have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to effect positive change in our world.
Mission: The GLOBE Academy fosters Global Learning Opportunities through Balanced Education for children of all backgrounds. With a focus on dual-language immersion, an experiential-learning model, and a constructivist approach, GLOBE inspires students to be high- performing lifelong learners equipped to make a positive impact in the world.
Core Values: The GLOBE Academy’s core values are expressed in the acronym, CREST: Community, Respect, Empathy, Sustainability and Trust. These values are expected of the governing board, faculty, staff, parents, and students. They are woven into daily life at GLOBE and incorporated into the curriculum.
Community: We are inclusive, and we nurture and support one another.
Respect: We treat ourselves and each other with kindness and dignity.
Empathy: We strive to understand and share the feelings of others.
Sustainability: We aim to conserve our resources for optimal use in the present and future.

Call the Meeting to Order
L. Long called a meeting of the Communications Committee of The GLOBE Academy to order on Thursday Apr 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
II. Communications
A.
Strategic Planning Survey
- C. Elliott-Earby shared that Strategic Planning needs to send a survey ASAP (tomorrow) and sent L. Long survey for review and input. [complete]
- Committee discussed implications of timing on other upcoming communications, so we don't cannibalize engagement.
- Strategic planning survey will be sent Friday, April 21
- Call for questions for GLOBE Elementary will move to April 26 (in newsletter)
- End-of-year parent survey will move to May 5 (with teacher survey sent May 10)
- L. Long to insert summary of input opportunities in Board section of future newsletter.
B.
End-of-year Surveys
- Committee finalized parent survey, which will be sent May 5.
- L. Long to write intro email.
- S. Butler to follow up with administration to ask teachers to include reminders in their class newsletters.
- Committee reviewed staff survey, addressing input from C. Elliott-Earby and T. Barnes. Will finalize and send May 10.

GLOBE Elementary
- Reviewed logistics and call for questions for upcoming input sessions on GLOBE Elementary.
- Call for questions is awaiting feedback from Board leadership.
- Discussed communications needs and next steps re: capital campaign. L. Long to follow up with Alexander Haas for update. [complete]
