Goal: Increase racial and ethnic diversity at the Parker School by increasing BIPOC* applications for the 2023 lottery.

Specific: What exactly will you accomplish?

  1. Directly support BIPOC affinity group work within the Recruitment Taskforce that is focused on increasing Parker applications overall for the 2023 lottery; this includes 
  • A DEI subcommittee member(s) will serve on the Recruitment taskforce
  • Attending recruitment events to represent the DEI subcommittee efforts
  • Enhancing recruitment materials and recruiting events to attract BIPOC applicants
  • Planning 1-2 recruitment events with the recruitment taskforce that focus on recruitment specifically from BIPOC communities.
  1. Longer term goal – monitor state legislation progress that would give preference to BIPOC applicants in the charter school lottery process.

 

Measurable: How will you know when you have reached this goal?

1. Enrollment of BIPOC students for the 2023-2024 school year.

 

Achievable: Is achieving this goal realistic with effort and commitment? Have you got the resources to achieve this goal? If not, how will you get them?

DEI subcommittee will need to assign team members to cover specific activities.

 

Relevant: Why is this goal significant to our work?

This work is directly supportive of the strategic school priority to increase diversity of students at the Parker School

 

Timely: When will you achieve this goal?

September 2023, when enrollment numbers are understood for the 2023-2024 school year.
