  D. Read-A-Thon Update FYI Elizabeth Rankin 10 m

Read a thon started on wednesday 3/13 and ends wednesday 3/27

  • a little over half of enrolled students are participating
  • $12,600 raised = $10,100 for RVCS
  • 18,700k minutes recorded reading time
  • CONS while we do see names of donors, we don't get contact information for donors and aren't able to add them to database for further engagement. 20% goes to read a thon
  • PROS donors are once/year and can be "greater rvcs community", relatively light lift 20% committment pays for infrastructure that makes this an easy fund raiser, short duration, community building, repeatable there are additional resources to increase revenue for future read a thons.
  • Summary - recommend as an annual event if we leverage all read a thon built in tools next year, including starting sooner, and engaging business sponsorhsips.
  • weakest participation is middle school - but hope to remedy by working with Colin who suggested changes next year
  • 2 surveys - one for families and one for staff to see where we can improve
