Notice is hereby given that Lake Oconee Academy will hold its regular public meeting on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Lake Oconee Academy High School, Building 800, Room 8104, 1021 Titan Circle, Greensboro, Georgia.
Meetings are open to the public, and all interested parties are invited to attend.

Finance
Surplus from last year will be moved to money market account and examined, in addition to FTE we have earned, for potential uses (including a potential bonus for employees). Law requires 45 days of reserves but we keep 90 days of reserves. Exploring retaining a consultant to advise on salary scales.

Academic Report
Cognia Mid-Cycle Progress Report: LOA went through accreditation three years ago and we go through a mid-cycle report to check progress which we just completed. We had a postiive report and earned continued accreditation with no further actions.

Enrollment and Applications
Demographics were reviewed and discussion was had around ensuring adequate resources to serve all students. No priority applicants with the exception of fifth grade which has the longest waitlist.
ESPLOST Committee met last week and the meeting went well. Vice Chair Cobb spoke in support of the LOA institutional facility. Lots of discussion of the performing arts center, as well. Dr. Schmuhl said our buildings will cost between $19-$30M. For the August 20th meeting, the Committee has requested new renderings and a more accurate number. New instructional facility is projected to cost approximately $25M and the pre-K and Kindergarten buildings that will enable the correct students to go into the correct buildings would cost approximately $5M.
