Call the Meeting to Order
J. Ray called a meeting of the board of directors of Lumen Public School to order on Thursday Dec 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM.

L. McDonald made a motion to approve the minutes from Board Meeting on 11-18-21.
T. O'Sullivan seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.
II. Finance

Monthly Financial Report
Ahead in giving donations compared to last year.
2 Capital budges - Kitchen / removed a wall between 2 classrooms - installed folding door.
Prediction for year - positive
Finance committee meets monthly before Board meeting
Fund balance - steady
Next month meeting - strategic plan - Finance committee presentation

A.
Principal & ED Report Out
- Lead into winter break - stress about winter break
- Students have bought into mission and attendance is great!
- 36 students active / 54 being served
- Lumen has incredible resources
- New students coming in 2nd semester - 2 new dads
- Holiday Bags - fun afternoon Friday before break
- Board - How would you like to be involved with students? - food deliveries, community engagement Boards, student internships, student mentor,
- Top need - Volunteer Coordinator - communication with volunteers
- Staff Needs - sound bath yesterday, heartbeat of the staff, May -
- Staff member leaving for maternity leave - Science Teacher
- Staff considerations - Jared - part time operations - managing nutrition, transportation, Glow, STA, HR personal files, inventory of everything in school.
- Projection for total enrollment - unsure - will know after winter holiday
- Number #1 reason losing students - have to work full time to pay for housing.
- School Tours - to community members -
- January 26th - students are hosting a town-hall and exhibition day
- Spokane Public Schools - offered all professional development - great partnership

Development
Postcards / Stamps / Names - Board support send out in January
Event - Grand total 39,000 - total expenses 12,716 - split the proceeds Lumen / Glow
Lumen receives 13,343.50
Development Committee meeting - Each Board member choose one of the following ways to support financial development.
Events - Focus in on Illuminate The Night in the Fall - major fundraising
Sip and Celebrate - celebration for community and donors - completely underwritten
Year in giving updates - on track
