Discuss Executive Director's Raise and Possible Bonus
As Board expressed concern about budgets for the next few years given how Massachusetts budget passed this year - the Board did not felt it was prudent to give Kendra a bonus. The Board discussed at length the raise for Kendra. Diana and Teremar proposed a 3.5% increase as. a starting point for discussion. Alton and Denise and the rest of the Board agreed that Kendra has done an outstanding job as the Executive Director and she continues to move the school forward in a positive direction. Given the climate and the fact that we have to be a bit conservative with the spending in case the school does not receive as much spending next year the Board agreed to do a 3% increase.
D.
Vote on 2024-2025 raise and possible bonus
this would bring her salary from $159,131.25 to $163,905.19
Teremar and Diana discussed how the report was drafted - the answers from board members, the executive director and also the staff at the school responded to the survey that was sent out via Board on Track - Teremar and Diana then met to discuss and summarize the answers which yielded the report. Denise had a couple of questions about content - she had no issues with the content and had some grammar suggestions. Alton shared concerns about funding for the next few years and how funding right now is tight for all schools in Mass. The rest of Board agreed- there was also discussion about the Principal position that is still open. The Board agreed that Kendra needs to work on hiring a new once so not all responsibilities fall on her.
