M. Bernard called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Summit Academy Charter School to order on Monday Mar 5, 2018 at 6:16 PM.

M. Bernard made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
N. Campbell seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.

SACS has created systematic strategies in ELA and Math to tackle scholar deficits. Scholars have been practicing these strategies for most of the year. They are learning how to maximize point earning potential.
- Working through a mindset of giving up
- Scholars own data and analyze why they performed the way they did
Math Foundations- Devoted time to address gaps in math skills
- Flexible groupings based upon data
- Additional teacher support
- Test taking strategies

- Collaborative conversation among staff
Genius Lab- IXL- Online math program that supports scholars fill skills gaps in Math:
- Program goes up to calculus
- Adapts to scholar learning needs
- Begins with a diagnostic assessment
- Provides ability to systematically master higher levels of text
March Madness - 3 Point Challenge- Homerooms compete completing 3 point constructive response questions. This is the first year we are doing this challenge with mathematics.
More meaningful teacher collaboration with focus on data.Teacher Predictions:
6th Grade
- 39/42 scholars will take assessment
- Of the 39, 8 are on trach to pass, 7 are high cuspers and will be converted
- 38.4%: will pass Math Exam if predictions are accurate.
7th Grade- 39/44 will take assessment
- Of 39, 4 are on track to pass, 12 are high cuspers and will be converted
- 41% will pass Math Exam if predictions are accurate
8th Grade- 39/41 will take assessment
- Of 39, 8 are on track to pass, 11 are hig hcuspers and will be converted
- 48% will pass Math Exam if predictions are accurate
