B. Call the Meeting to Order

K. Delp called a meeting of the Development Committee of Wesley International Academy to order on Thursday Aug 10, 2017 at 4:12 PM.

C. Approve Minutes

K. Delp made a motion to approve minutes.

S. Quezada seconded the motion.

The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Development

A. Wesley Welcome Update

$16k raised during WW + payroll deductions

Work on equity for grade levels and auxiliary support

Add storytelling of how teachers use grant

Sell sweatshirts starting Oct 1 - from $25-$50 TBD

B. Red Thread Next Steps

GA Gives Day is next push: focus on $100 on timers from last year and currently monthly; write notecards; maybe do t-shirts

Donor Event: breakfast on Sept 14

Community Investor Program: needs corresponding website and contacts; send home with parents (needs letter), teachers, board members, front office. Jason and Sarah need to visit local businesses.

C. 2017-18 Development Plan

Looking at 2017-18 Development Plan:
* Special Event $20k may be too high - could consider "host model," might partner with PTSA, China Feb 8-10.
* Could offer VIP entrance ahead of adult event for higher priced tickets
* Foundations: Family Foundation, SunTrust Foundation, Dollar General, Atlanta Capital Bank
