Call the Meeting to Order
S. Wilson called a meeting of the Academic Committee of Voices for International Business and Education to order on Tuesday Apr 21, 2020 at 6:01 PM.

Approve March 10, 2020 minutes
G. Lazard made a motion to approve the minutes from VIBE Academic Committee Meeting on 03-10-20.
S. Retzlaff seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Cultural Elements of the School - COVID-19 updates
Intercultural appreciation is happening through social media.
Information is being disseminated to parents about the importance of continued learning through this time.
Google phone numbers created to keep engaged with students.
Want more posting of students working
Cardio and routine videos are being sent to students and students are participating from the athletic teams.
The adaptation curve has been moving as folks are learning to use technology. The transition has been a stressor, but we are improving in the ease of anxiety.

Described the outcomes of state testing as the rigor is not been discussed for the 2020-2021 school year.

Comments from the DRAFT Dashboard:
- ACT reference information (trending 3-year)
- LEAP writing section inclusion
- ELL interventions
- Admin to use the aforementioned items to be included in future reports
- AC Committee to vote on the adoption of the AC Dashboard.
- Then AC Committe determine timeline to present the DAshboard to the VIBE Board

Revisions to Academic Committee Goals for 2019-2020 School Year
A discussion had about additional goals amid COVID-19.

Goal 1: Monitor and Increase the progress of SPS.
Goal 2: Streamline dashboard
Goal 3: Monitor ACT progress

- Will add 4th goal:
- Research, monitor the implementation of best practices distance learning enhance the engagement of students
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of distance learning
- Monitor and increase the effectiveness of the distance learning program at IHSNO
S. Retzlaff made a motion to Goal 1: Monitor and Increase the progress of SPS.
Goal 2: Streamline Academic dashboard
Goal 3: Monitor ACT progress
Goal 4: Monitor and increase the effectiveness of the distance learning program at IHSNO.
G. Lazard seconded the motion.
A discussion was had to add the 4th goal.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
