Charter Renewal Process

Kristin Moody shared the timeline and overview of the charter renewal process.  Kristin will work as a consultant to ensure that we are able to submit a strong charter renewal. The approval will primarily report on charter accountability (assessment scores, attendance, culture data, etc) and innovative programs (farm, IB, etc).  There are some new requirements given shift to SESE.  In January, APS will go over updated application with Dr. Pullen and leadership team.  Renewal is due in August.  We aim to approve at the June Board meeting.  The draft will go through the committee likely in May.

Innovative Programs

  • Conscious Discipline.  Lara and Mark shared the conscious discipline model as well as the inspirational texts that help to inform the schools' approach to discipline.
  • Farm Program. Nicole shared overview of farm program across both campuses.  This included curriculum, extra curricular activities, and community/family engagement.
