Agenda

Rihannen led a discussion around most recent MAP and Milestones data, with comparisons to state and local metrics as well as internal comparisons by student subgroups.  <Math Milestones data is still embargoed, so will be updated once it can be released.>

Alastair shared survey results from the 23/24 AY family survey.  Lower response rate than desired, but some key learnings derived.

Rihannen shared the school-wide goal: "Through integrating and operationalizing culturally responsive teaching practices ANCS will continue the work of closing the opportunity gap.  In at least 3 grade levels the growth data from MAP of students who fall in the opportunity gap will outpace the school average."

Laura shared updates on the new elementary literacy curriculum, Benchmark Literacy, including teacher training, curriculum highlights, and early implementation.  Also highlighted other curricular resources, Everyday Math, and the Project/Integrated curriculum with Science and Social Studies.

Mark shared highlights of the middle grades curricular components, highlighting the constructivism approach, International Baccalaureate program, real world learning, Power30 program, etc.

Alastair shared highlights of the Professional Development day for teachers on September 3rd as well as Dr. Woody's work with new families and community outreach.  Board members are welcomed to join the October 9th Farm Day.

The Charter Compliance report will be shared via the ED's monthly report to the Board.
