Call the Meeting to Order

Shannon Rutledge called a meeting of the Educational Excellence Committee of Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School to order on Thursday Sep 14, 2023 at 9:02 AM.

Approve Minutes

Bethany Greenley made a motion to approve the minutes from Educational Excellence Committee Meeting on 04-11-23.
Amber Suitt seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

II. Educational Excellence

1. Data Presentation:

  • Fall MAP Data
  • Milestone Data from 2021-2022 and 2022-2023

2. School-wide Goal:

  • PEERS Goal- reduce the opportunity gap between black and white students and economically disadvantaged and non-economically disadvantaged students. 
  • To address and close the opportunity gap that exists between subgroup performance.

3. Curriculum Update:

  • Elementary Campus:  math curriculum, literacy curriculum, science and social studies curriculum
  • Middle Campus: IB Program overview (IB Evaluation Year- March 2024), MC Student Experience

4. September 5th Asynchronous Professional Development Day- Update:

  • EC Campus students engaged in age-appropriate work centered around discovery, creativity and exploration.  Teachers engaged in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE & I) Professional Development, Teacher planning for differentiated instruction and preparation for parent-teacher conferences.
  • MC Campus- students engaged in asynchronous A Day work around advisory, silent sustained reading, Power 30 (math recommended skills) and additional work in Google Classroom.  Teachers engaged in DE & I circles, grade level team meetings and teacher planning time.

5. Community Outreach Update:

  • Grant Park Coffee House- Executive Director Meet and Greets
  • Parent Involvement Task Force 
  • Transportation quotes
