Call the Meeting to Order

Ben Sutton called a meeting of the Finance & Operations Committee of Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School to order on Monday Mar 13, 2023 at 12:02 PM.

Approve Minutes

Cory Tiede made a motion to approve the minutes from Finance and Operations Committee Meeting on 02-13-23.
Oriol Mirosa seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Finance & Operations

A.

Financial Performance Update

Chiquetta West and Chuck Meadows presented the updated financial reports for FY 22/23 through February 28, 2023. 

Chuck Meadows provided an update on Elementary & Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding allocated to ANCS. 

 

Currently $375,679 are pending reimbursement from APS. Reconciliation of remaining funds allocated to ANCS through CARES I, II, & III is currently underway to align ANCS's understanding and expectation of the allocated funds with APS. 

 

Current turnaround on reimbursements is 6-8 months. The school may escalate communication with APS to the board level.


 

B.

DRAFT FY 23/24 Budget

Chuck Meadows presented an update on the draft FY 23/24 budget process, including timelines and general expectations. The committee will review and approve the FY 23/24 budget at the April meeting. 

 

Staff will ensure public notice of two budget meetings will be posted in the publication of record for Fulton County. 

C.

Buildings & Grounds Update

Security assessments continue to be reviewed and recommendations will be reviewed at the April committee meeting in alignment with the budget. 

 

It was noted that the cornice at 688 Grant Street remains a long-term maintenance issue. Chuck Meadows recommended reaching out to APS to consider funding of the project, which has the potential to be a major undertaking.
