Fund Development Report

Pouya Dianat arrived at 9:08 AM.

Paige Teusink reported on the October financials. October exceeded the goal and we continue to track ahead (see attached report for details). We are also starting to see responses from the Grandparents and Special Friends push coming in via mail, it's slow, but we've noticed a real delay in the mail. We anticipate seeing more responses coming in. Currently, the numbers on donations from Oct through Nov 8 is 52 donors totaling $10,306; for comparison, Oct/Nov 2021 total was 63 donors at $31,993, so we're hoping to see this year tick up as we approach the end of the month.

There were 13 donations to the bookplate campaign during Fall Fest. The bookplates push is still currently only promoted to Grandparents/Special Friends, but will be rolled out to the full school community soon and will remain open until May 1. Jenna Civitello had a recommendation that we provide language to the room reps to share the opportunities with the classes, which the committee agreed was a good idea. Additionally, Ms. Teusink shared they will also tie a push to the next book fair, as well as any events that might be a logical fit.

We have received gifts or pledges from 11 of the 12 board members. Barrett Krise will follow up to get the final pledge in.

Giving Tuesday will be on Tues 11/29. Ms. Teusink will put a Save the Date in the Courier this week and next to let the school family know. Additionally, there will be an email blast the Monday after Thanksgiving break and reminders on social media and the Neighborhood Charter School website.

There has been a change in how Facebook is doing the match, so we will not be promoting that quite as much as we have in the past.

Day of, Ms. Teusink will do an early morning Facebook and Instagram post, a mid-day update post and an end of day last push/wrap up. There will also be a notification push via the school app. Committee members will also promote on their own social accounts.

The day following will be Wed, so Ms. Teusink will have a thank you in the courier and on social media.

This year's messaging will tie in the 20th anniversary and the language around bridging the gap for families facing hardship as well as supporting special projects at the school. Susannah Darrow also recommended that the messaging around what your donation "could do" align with the messaging around supporting families. Ms. Civitello recommended using field trip access or other examples to illustrate the purpose of donations is to ensure all kids have access to the opportunities at the school. Ms. Teusink and Chuck Meadows will get together to come up with messaging.

Wonderball Event

Shannon Rutledge reported on Wonderball planning. They are holding meeting for people who are interested in learning more about volunteering. The meeting will be next Wednesday, Nov 16 at the Middle Campus in the evening and will be promoted in today's Courier as well.

They are beginning conversations around the theme, leaning towards aligning with the 20th anniversary. Ms. Rutledge and Rebecca Fuller (co-chairs) will begin conversations with the Wonderball Committee and will bring their recommendation back to the Fund Development Committee for final approval.
