Call the Meeting to Order

Emily Ormsby called a meeting of the Finance & Operations Committee of Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School to order on Monday Nov 15, 2021 at 12:05 PM.

Approve October 18, 2021 Meeting Minutes

Ben Sutton made a motion to approve the minutes from Finance and Operations Committee Meeting on 10-18-21.
Irina Brimmell seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Business & Operations Update

A.

Financial Performance Update

  • APS allocation reflects an increase in October based on the mid-year count.
  • CARES Act reimbursement of $157k received in October.
  • Submitted 600k of reimbursement requests for grounds improvements. The farm is not included. Outdoor classrooms/seating and retaining walls tied to CDC recommendation. $300k/campus requested for reimbursement that requires approval by state GADOE because APS feels the request is outside of the "norm".
  • Grandparents' solicitation was successful resulting in high contributions in October ($30k in October).
  • In general, COVID costs have stabilized.
  • Possibility for ANCS to join APS facilities contract for better pricing on HEPA filters. 
  • Got Title II funding of approx $22k to cover DEI consultants.
  • The next committee meeting will include a discussion about revising current year budget.

Middle Campus Mortgage Refinance

Closing on Thursday 18.

C.

Facilities and Grounds

  • December 4 tree planting with Trees Atlanta at EC. Over 50 people have already volunteered.
  • Trees Atlanta has agreed to do a similar project at MC.
  • Flooding related to a plumbing clog occured on the bottom floor of the EC. Timing aligned with Braves Friday school closure, which allowed for cleanup prior to school reopening.
