Principals' Open Forum
EC (Nicole King) - September is about building community (as are all months), parent/teacher conferences opened this week, kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month. Coming up is new teacher meetings, GP & Special Friends Day (Oct 9), Pink Out Day (date TBA), Conscious Discipline Professional, and Learning and Parent Workshop.
MC (Mark Sanders) - Meet the School Family, Hispanic Heritage Month, Morehouse Visit, fall sports, picture day, ANCS Music Fest. Looking forward student-led conferences, IB info sessions, Farm and Culture Event.

Executive Director's Monthly Report
Charter Compliance Report - this is the first quarter starting to use it, much is still "TBD" because waiting on data (e.g., annual audit). Gap closing for MAP scores between Black and White students, but gap remains, so still work to be done.

Delinquencies have been creeping up at Aftercare, so investigating.

C. Advancement Committee Monthly Report
Donor Appreciation even coming up, as well as a small group dinner for prospective donors.
Reasoning behind calling it "Enrichment and Extension" and summary of philosophy. Explanation of cluster grouping model, where students stay inside regular classroom. Differentiated instruction is not simply more work, but greater depth, increased complexity, student choice, independent investigation, etc. Annual review required by the state includes participation, engagement, academic progress, differentiated learning. Measures for success include more kids getting distinguished on Milestones.
