Call the Meeting to Order

Shannon Rutledge called a meeting of the board of directors of Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School to order on Thursday Feb 12, 2026 at 6:34 PM.

Approve Meeting Minutes from 12/18/25

Rebecca Wagner made a motion to approve the minutes from Governing Board Monthly Meeting on 12-18-25.
Evan Saadat seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. School Leadership Updates

A.

Spotlight Area: Faculty Research- Lesley Michael and Natalie Caudle

Ms. Michael and Ms. Caudle summarized research they had previously presented at the CASE Conference in Nov 2025. Co-teaching is a partnership between classroom teacher and special ed teacher and has lots of benefits including increasing instruction time and opportunities and decreasing stigma associated with removal from class. Co-planning is essential for co-teaching.

Principals' Open Forum

EC - busy start to the semester, including progress reports, Family Math Night, Skate Night, Lit, Love, Read. Upcoming in March, Black History Month Celebration, CogAT Testing, book fair, Lunar New Year Celebration Dragon Parade, MAP.

 

MC - also busy. Black History Month, 8th grade MJHS visit, prospective parent night, 7th grade trip to Jekyll Island. Upcoming in March, Teacher Appreciation, Asynchronous, Service as Action Day.

Jonna Martin made a motion to ANCS commits $104,000 to the trailer buy-out.
Evan Saadat seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Working to form a foundation for the school. Working with Purpose Possible to form.
