Call the Meeting to Order
Mark Boswell called a meeting of the Educational Excellence Committee of Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School to order on Thursday Sep 11, 2025 at 8:33 AM.

Approve Minutes from May Meeting
LaNiesha Cobb Sanders made a motion to approve the minutes from Educational Excellence Committee Meeting on 05-08-25.
Shannon Rutledge seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
II. Agenda
A.
Purpose and Responsibilities
- Restated committee purpose and responsibilities aligned to Charter: oversee academic excellence goals with school leadership; ensure compliance with charter, laws, and regulations; support.
B.
Charter Compliance Report
- Quarterly tracking reviewed for APS 5-year renewal:
- Academic performance (CCRPI and standardized testing).
- Financial status (ongoing monitoring).
- Innovative features: Constructivism (EC), Conscious Discipline, Farm Program.
- Status: Current indicators show ANCS meeting/exceeding district benchmarks.

Data Overview: Milestones
- Georgia Milestones analysis (Elementary and Middle)
- ELA/Reading: +5.5 percentage points YoY improvement.
- Math: Positive YoY gains.
- Science: Decline noted in 5th grade (only grade tested).
- Subgroup performance
- Students with Disabilities (SWD): Top performance at elementary; strong at middle; transitions from IEP to 504 noted as gaps close.
- Economically Disadvantaged (ED): Elementary leads citywide; middle showing growth as new ED students enroll and persist.
- Challenge Index
- Subgroups outperform expectations; some non-ED students underperform relative to demographics.
- Rankings
- Elementary and Middle among top APS charter schools.

A.
Future focus
- Deeper subgroup analyses (new vs. veteran ANCS students); MAP data review scheduled for next meeting; streamline meetings with pre-loaded, digestible data and strategic discussion.
