Call the Meeting to Order

C. Hu called a meeting of the board of trustees of Brooklyn RISE Charter School to order on Wednesday Jan 22, 2025 at 7:05 PM.

Approve December Meeting Minutes

K. Zaunbrecher made a motion to approve the minutes from Brooklyn RISE Board Meeting on 12-18-24.
B. Cabrera seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Finance Update

Finance Update

Reviewed and discussed monthly Finance dashboard. 

III. Head of School and Academic Update

A.

HOS Update for 1/22 Meeting

Discussed recent math assessments and upcoming state assessments. Reviewed tentative staffing plans for SY 25-26, with more detail to come in future meetings.

Visiting Board Candidate Greetings and Check- Ins

Check In on New Board Member Authorization Process

General Discussion on Board Support Resources

J. Ni made a motion to authorize the school to change back office providers in the current school year.
K. Zaunbrecher seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Board Retreat Saturday 2/1

Set the agenda for the retreat.

Head of School Evaluation

Will be completed in a future month. 

V. Facilities Update

A.

410 40th Street Middle School Building Update

Discussed 9 Hanover Place lease extension and status of 410 40th Street construction. 

K. Zaunbrecher made a motion to approve the 9 Hanover Place Lease Extension.
C. Hu seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
