  C. FTE FEB Update Discuss Ilya Soroka 2 m

February Count is this week and the schools are focused on making sure we are on task with FTE. We are watching enrollment and attendance and a significant dip was noticed on Monday as part of a nationwide protest.

  D. Global Intercoastal Construction Update Vote Ilya Soroka 2 m

Global Intercostal Construction is moving according the plan. The GC is keeping to their contract timeline, the goal now would be to move 8 classrooms over Spring Break. The project currently has a RDM contract contingency of approximately $98,000. Potential for more savings will be the work Taylor's company has been helping the school with Owner Direct Purchases, Owner Paid direct items (Low Voltage). RDM prices 3 Low Voltage contractors, Evo Technologies was the cheapest and best fitting. They can contract directly with RDM but contracting with the school saves 6%.

  E. Class Size Compliance Plan Vote Julie Hemphill 5 m

The state of Florida has lifted penalties for class size. However, if a school has a segment of the school out of class size compliance--we must submit a plan to the state. Discovery campus had an overage of 12 students in grades 4-8.

  F. Public Comment Policy Vote Julie Hemphill 5 m

Our legal counsel advised us to update our public comment policy after a recent federal court case between Moms for Liberty and Brevard County Schools.
The proposed policy incorporates their recommendations.

  G. DOE General Knowledge and Professional Education Test Waiver Forms Vote Julie Hemphill 5 m

DOE allows teachers (under specific circumstances) to request waivers for the General Knowledge and Professional Education Test Scores portion of certification. We are submitting these on behalf of a teacher Lena Leon de Layhe. I would request the board chair's signature on her forms and for the board to delegate Chief of Schools (Julie Hemphill) as the designee to sign these forms in the future.

  H. Increase 401k Match Cap from $1,500 to $1,650 Vote Dmitriy Goncharov 2 m

The original cap of $1,500 was set up with an average teacher salary of $50,000. Currently, the average teacher's salary across campuses closer to $55,000. The 3% contribution match at this salary is $1,650. We recommend to increase the cap from $1,500 to $1,650. This increase is manageable for schools' budgets.

  I. Discovery Field Construction Contractor Vote Ilya Soroka 2 m
VI. Board Comments 4:46 PM
  A. Adjourn Meeting Vote
