Call the Meeting to Order
E. Desprez Isbell called a meeting of the Academic Achievement Committee of The Anchor School to order on Wednesday Feb 11, 2026 at 7:03 PM.

Approve Minutes
E. Desprez Isbell made a motion to approve the minutes from Academic Committee Meeting on 01-14-26.
K. Sargeant seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

Academic (Assessment) Calendar
Action Item: Dr. PT
- Align October break in 2026-2027 SY with Dekalb County Fall Break (Oct 5-9)
- October Teacher Planning (Day of Practice) day on October 12
Action Item: Emily
- Add Academic Calendar as an Item for Action/Vote for board meeting
- Add Assessment Calendar as an Item for Information for board meeting
III. Academic Monitoring Updates
A.
Enrollment Dates
- 97% of 6th grade coming back for 7th grade
- 93% of 7th grade coming back for 8th grade
- 85% of 8th graders coming back for 9th grade
- Total of 243 students already enrolled for next year
- 62 6th grade applications, 12 7th grade applications, and 10 8th grade applications, and 19 9th grade applications.
- Planning to gap 9th grade enrollment at 90 students and 120 in other grades
- Lottery is on Friday, Feb 13, seat offered/receiving enrollment documents

Grade Acceleration Procedure
- Dr. PT added a GPA consideration/weight applied to that course (if it's a middle schooler in a high school course, or a high schooler in a college course).
Action Item:
- Dr. PT to review policies related taking advanced courses (like Algebra 1 in 8th grade and AP courses in high school). Potentially add policy language on weighted grading/GPA to the advanced course criteria policy.
- All committee members to gather information from other schools around weighted grading

April Academic Committee Meeting
- April 8th is kids spring break so we are moving the April Academic Committee Meeting to Wednesday, April 15 at 7pm.
Action Item:
- Emily to update in Board on Track
- Emily to check with Morgan about the procedure needed for notifying the legal organ.
