Present the drafted academic assessment calendar for the 24-25 school year.

Personnel handbook updates, SCSC monitoring, and safety planning.  Kynea will be the staff member supporting these items.

 
  A. Personnel Handbook Updates Discuss Kynea Griffith 3 m
   
  • Present the updates to the Staff Handbook based on attorney feedback.
  • Staff to create an Action Item for the board meeting agenda to readopt with updates (best practice due to edits since last adopted)
 
  B. SCSC Monitoring Discuss Kynea Griffith 5 m
   
  • Share timeline for initial monitoring, communications, and materials.
  • Discuss any necessary details and the direct next steps.
  • Plan to provide an update at the August Board meeting.

  • Determine the Academic Achievement Committee's role in the accreditation process. 
  • Dr. Pinto Taylor will recommend the accreditation track and the Academic Committee will vote on the recommended track.

Begin a conversation with the academic committee about HS.

 

We will discuss recent conversation with Pataula Charter School leadership about what they learned and recommendations they have for board action over the next 24 months.

 
  C. Standards Based Grading and Grade Conversions Discuss Josh Pinto Taylor 5 m
   

Dr. Pinto Taylor will share a draft policy for when and how TAS does grade conversions. Given that Grade 8 is only a year away (this is when we will begin offering HS credits), We'd like to have this work completed this year.
