Welcome to the EBIA Board of Directors public meeting portal. 

 

Hello! Our regular meetings are held at EBIA, 3400 Malcolm Avenue, Oakland, CA at 8 PM. Please see specific dates below.

 

Regular meetings are generally held in the months of Jan, Feb, Mar, April, May, June, July, August, Sept, Oct, and Nov but can be scheduled at any time with proper notice to respond to any pressing need. Meetings are typically scheduled around school activities, needed approval cycles for OUSD, and state deadlines for regulatory submissions and school and/or major religious holidays.

PLEASE NOTE: (1) as noted above, all public comments are limited to three minutes per speaker; (2) the board must use the publicly noticed agenda to guide its discussion; and (2) if the EBIA Board does not reach a quorum for any scheduled meeting due to any unforeseen reasons the meeting will be canceled and rescheduled. The Brown Act mandates that agendas for regular meetings allow for two types of public comment periods. The first is a general audience comment period, which is part of the meeting where the public can comment on any item of interest that is within the subject matter jurisdiction of the local agency. This general audience comment period may occur during a meeting (Section 54954.3). The second type of public comment period is the specific comment period pertaining to items on the agenda. The Brown Act requires the legislative body to allow these specific comment periods on agenda items to occur before or during the EBIA board's consideration of that item (Section 54954.3). Per EBIA's legal counsel, EBIA accomplishes both requirements by placing a general audience comment period at the beginning of the agenda where the public can comment on agenda and non-agenda items. Additionally, EBIA provides a second public comment period at the end of the meeting agenda to allow for any additional comment the public may wish to provide.
