I. Opening Items

B.Call the Meeting to Order

Michael Maxwell called a meeting of the board of directors of Great Oaks Charter School - Wilmington to order on Monday Jan 23, 2017 @ 5:30 PM.

C.Approve Minutes

 
Michael Maxwell made a motion to approve the December minutes. Rob Snowberger seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

D.Vote on Performance Agreement

Michael Maxwell made a motion to grant him authority to sign the performance agreement with any such changes that may be necessary to protect the school, which would be circulated to the board. Geoff Langdon seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Finance

A.Vote on Monthly Web Report

Rick and Vanessa are coming next week to participate in a finance review; our special education files need to be checked due to the type of funding we receive.
 
Rick updated the board on some changes to the minor modification application.
 
Rob Snowberger made a motion to approve the web report. Geoff Langdon seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
 

III. Academic Excellence

A.Head of School Report

Jorden Jones gave the head of school report. There are new enrichment classes. The play “High School Musical” made a profit from ticket and snack sales.
 
Recruitment is going well so far, open houses have been very successful. Parents seem to like to see the school with other parents as opposed to one-on-one tours. There are 115 applications so far.
 
The special education close out report was received; someone is coming to train a new school psychologist.
