Intellectual Excellence: interdisciplinary courses - transferable skills w/ reading and writing - strong literacy background to apply through all
After school support program: any scholar w/ 69% or below and ILPs are mandated to attend
Drive towards 90% of all scholars are passing WEEKLY, and those who are failing will need to attend extra help.
All juniors are talking AP Lang - pacing is something we need to work on.
Intellectual prep component and coaching weekly to provide
Progressive pedagogy - how to transform class
Strong Culture of Data: school wide goals of data driven - mandate to use Powerschool and Illuminate - set accountability
Growing the Whole Child - Advisory PDs is really useful - academic, emotional, college
Weekly updates w/ families
Establishing a financial literacy program
CPA goals: instructional, cultural, collegial
C.
Goal setting 2022-2023
Ellen: work closely with Kurt and Anthony on additional programs and tools to help them reach their goals -> work with Finance committee to prioritize spending -> raise funding to ensure support as we expand
Constance: where we can be supportive and tech piece. Connect with city counsel and Aluta
Anthony: interviewing and hoping to bring on quality teachers - needed to move a few teachers around to fill the gaps - use new hire as co-teachers (teacher collaboration) - new potential afterschool teacher (great test taker)
Jessi: curriculum content (a newer view, instead of the traditional curriculum) - Anthony: anti-racism, ethics and morality, and financial literacy courses - Kurt: on lighter data months, invite people to speak to it
Sophia: see how we as committee and board can help support transferable skills in class and world, better understand the issues in the community and to better the school - concept of bringing in environmental justice
ELA
2019 was the last full testing
2021 results were inflated due to covid
2022 is a blind new testing
2022 improved from 2019 by 17%
As students are with us longer, we see greater performance - growth in the middle grades - need to dive in on 5th grade instructions - seeing progress in ELA
Math
Less growth than ELA, but seeing proficiencies - conceptual math in 5th, 6th, and 8th grades are really helping
8th grade data: those who just joined us the year of, only 2/8 passed regents, whereas those who have been with us longer, 65% passed regents
Will use test assessment to develop professional development.
Marketing use of data improvements (to obtain younger scholars).
PDI update: shifting gear and achieving excellence
Breakout sessions are helping teachers dive deeper.
