Mission
We prepare our students for college through a rigorous arts-infused program.

Key updates:

  • All policies have been updated with Nuasin name, logo and header
  • Public Comment Policy: No updates but will discuss timing of public comments
  • Grievance Policy: Wording updated for clarity and continuity with previously approved Grievance Policy. Added Mr. Brown as high school contact for parents.
  • COVID Safety Plan: Updated in keeping with current COVID conditions (no longer remote/hybrid, CDC guidelines updates, etc.).
  • FYI's: 
    • Finance Committee has also reviewed the financial policies and procedures this month
    • Donation Policy: status?

When should policies rise to the level of Board approval?

  • Previously we followed MetLHA practice on this
  • We should have a deliberate framework for Nuasin
  • Possible criteria:
    • Involves Board directly (e.g., Grievance Policy and Public Comment Policy)
    • Particularly high stakes (e.g., COVID Safety Policy - but how long will this qualify as COVID becomes more normalized?; Data Safety Policy?)
    • Finance policies (which ones?)
    • Other? (Where do the above criteria leave things like the FOIL Policy? What would they mean for things like, e.g., the Active Shooter Policy?)
  • Are there other policies we feel we should see (or not see) at the Board level? Why?
