Speech and Debate Club
T. Saurer spoke about the new Speech and Debate Club, which will be supported by the TedEd Student Talks program.

SLC Goals
E. Brenner reviewed the success of last school year's SLC meeting goal, as well as the current year's attendance rates and number of active Council members.
Discussion was held regarding the ideal number of Scholar Council members and a suggested attendance rate goal. Members agreed to a new goal of increasing the number of SLC members to 15-20, and increasing the attendance rate of members to average 80 percent.
A. Gordon suggested an additional goal of increasing the number of High School field trips.

Upcoming Meetings
The next Scholar Leadership Council meeting will be March 12, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. This meeting will have a presentation about options for safe scholar communications.
Additional upcoming meetings will be on April 9 and May 14.
Members had brief discussion about the upcoming Speech and Debate Club, asking clarifying questions about the different activities that will be offered. T. Saurer confirmed the framework is still being developed, and will send out more information when plans are finalized.
