A. Gordon made a motion to approve the consent items.
E. Christopher seconded the motion.
The team VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Approval of the February 13, 2019 Regular Meeting Minutes

A. Gordon made a motion to approve minutes from the Scholar Leadership Council Meeting on 02-13-19 Scholar Leadership Council Meeting on 02-13-19.
E. Christopher seconded the motion.
The team VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

State Testing Discussion with Beth Sneyd

Mrs. Beth Sneyd, Assessment Coordinator, led the council in a discussion and overview of state testing.

V. Reports

A.

Staff Report

Mr. Lewis led the council in an overview of the Staff Report. He mentioned that re-enrollment opened on March 1st. A 'Proud Scholar' t-shirt will be sent to all scholars who complete the re-enrollment process by Friday, March 22. As of today, there are 1,699 scholars enrolled with Compass as we continue to grow by the day.

Review and Discussion of Academic Success

Ms. Gordon suggested having scholar tutors. 

Ms. Linares suggested having scholar study groups for further academic success. Study groups would be beneficial to her smaller classes as they could try to figure out some concepts out together. Michael Effie agrees with the tutoring aspect. Those that struggle in their grades should be given extra care and attention. He also mentioned that scholars must approach their teacher for help. He also suggested teachers could possibly approach the scholars who they see are struggling.
