The Neighborhood Charter Network is hosting a board meeting on the third Thursday of each month.

Call the Meeting to Order
D. Castellanos called a meeting of the board of directors of The Neighborhood Charter Network to order on Tuesday Nov 21, 2017 at 9:04 AM.

Approve Minutes
K. Britt made a motion to approve minutes from the NCN Board Meeting on 10-17-17 NCN Board Meeting on 10-17-17.
R. Zavaleta seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
II. Academic Update

Enlace Academy Update
- ELA & Math metrics update
- Currently 1st grade is the highest performing grade in math.
- 5th grade has had consistent strong data in math.
- Grades that did not meet their reading goals currently are being taught by new teachers.
- The first quarter was more focused on systems and procedures and then jumped into content.
- Enlace will begin weekly data meetings to address the data progress. Enlace has 3 mentor teachers that support classroom teachers.
- The 6th and 7th grade math teachers is the same teacher. Brenice has been spending time with her and modeling best teaching practices.
III. Kindezi Academic Update

- Kindezi ELA metrics update
- K-2nd grade are highest performing grades.
- 3rd -6th grade students are far behind,
- Kindezi is partnering with the Indiana Council who will provide 2 hours, 4 days a week of intervention. Kindezi is also starting academic remediation programs for ELA & Math.
- Some of the bubble kids and Tiel 3 kids will have a remediation block. The Kindezi teachers are providing after school tutoring. Kindezi has also started using Second Step, which was funded by the Lilly grant, for social emotional support. Indy Heartbeat, AB counseling services full day to support. Kindezi is partnering with Strides for Success.

Kevin presented the new growth timeline.
The goals previously proposed are not being met at this moment.
Kevin recommends to allow the schools in the 17-18 school year to lay out the goals for next year and expand the timeline to launch the new schools in 2022.

Audit
The audit is going well. Brian has been in conversation with BJ Lipperts who works with Donovan. They are trying to figure out how to report the schools whether together or separate. They have decided to do one audit for NCN instead of one for each school. The hope is to get a draft report by the end of November.

Events
IPS is having a meet and greet between IPS and innovation network board members. From meet and greet is from 4-5pm and the board meeting starts at 6pm.
