Cynthia Canavan made a motion to accept remote participation.

Matt Cronin seconded the motion.

C. Call the Meeting to Order

Paul Baker called a meeting of the Governance Committee of MCCPS Board of Trustees to order on Tuesday Jan 4, 2022 at 7:04 PM.

D. Approve Minutes from 10/5/21 Governance Committee Meeting

Minutes were not presented and will be presented and approved at a later meeting.

II. 10/26/21, 11/31/21 and 12/21/21 Board Meeting update

A. Board meeting update

As we had not held a December Governance meeting, Peter, Nick and Paul gave updates on the previous 3 months Board meetings.

B. Meet, interview and vote(?) on Tim Wadlow joining the MCCPS Board of Trustees.

Mr Tim Wadlow was presented to the committee for consideration as a new Board Trustee.

Tim, the parent of a 5th grader, Sage, outlined how he would very much like to become more involved in the school and help out in any way he can.

The Committee asked Tim questions and then, happy with the answers were delighted to move forward with a vote.

Matt Cronin made a motion to approve Tim Wadlow for presentation to the MCCPS Board of Trustees for Board membership at the 1/25/22 Board meeting.

Paul Baker seconded the motion.

The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

III. Other Business

A. Individual Board Trustee (and committee?) renewal/yearly self assessments.. Board directed.

This was discussed and decided that we needed formal direction from the Board in order to move forward. Paul will ask for this direction at the 1/25/22 Board meeting

B. Membership Outreach and Committee/Board onboarding

Committee membership, or lack there of, continues to be an issue. This brought home by long time committee member, former trustee and MCCPS parent Cynthia Canavan announcing that she will be stepping down from the committee. Cyndi has served the school in one capacity or another for 25 years and her presence and dedication to all things MCCPS will be greatly missed.

Cynthia Canavan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.

Matt Cronin seconded the motion.

The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
