Academic Excellence Committee Role
8th grade capstone? Stonebridge Student led conferences?
Conversations amongst staff. How the alignment looks.
What are the expectations for the Student led conferences by grade level?
Salts - 6 "touch points" - goal setting, portfolio, etc.
Students setting goals based on Criteria
SLC in 8th this year - print out report cards - what went well, what didn't, areas of improvement - connecting it to outside world. (Bringing in people in their careers to see how it connects to what the kids are doing). Would report cards work for everyone? Parents were hyper focused on grades.
Focus conference around portfolios.

Where will this live? In departments? Communicating to parents? Syllabus?
Department meetings as vehicle to keep this document alive. Now the focus is implementation - how imbedded in lessons/units? How are students making progress against the criteria?
Parents brought up to speed.
First - "elevator pitch" - can everyone give an answer to what this is. Make sure it stays off the shelf. Can we speak to this initiative? Can everyone?
- thinking to Parker, everyone could articulate exactly what the Criteria was.
- something to build on year to year
Parent Night (via Zoom?) + Student led conferences in December
Return to Parker?/Saltonstall? - what precedes the work/what we saw when we visited?
Invite Meghan & Adria? (as dept. heads) to join the committee. Additional Parent.
Return of ILT meetings?
First step - how does it lay with current curriculum/Exhibition?
Sept. 15th - Half Day used for Trimester planning/criteria alignment.
