Mission:

The Mission of Brevard Academy is to prepare its students to achieve academic excellence through the Core Knowledge Sequence. Through a partnership involving students, teachers, and parents the school strives to create citizens with strong moral character and active intellectual inquiry.

Call the Meeting to Order

Ted Duncan called a meeting of the Facilities Committee of Brevard Academy to order on Tuesday Jun 4, 2024 at 8:46 AM.

C.

Approve Minutes

Tim Prey made a motion to approve the minutes from Monthly Facilities Meeting on 05-07-24.
Jenny Light seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Facilities

A.

STAGE

Mr. Prey discussed the stage progress.  The timeline is in the agenda.

The stage should be completed by the end of June.

The school staff would like to name the stage in honor of Mr. A.

B.

PLAYGROUND

The general price for a playground and fitness area is $215-$230K for both installed.  This does not include any other groundwork or ADA parking.  The committee estimates another $10-15K for any additional expenses.

 

Installation will take approximately 3 months from the time of purchase.

 

Action Needed--Final amount for the playground.  

 

 

C.

ASPHALT

Early to mid-July is needed to patch the pavement.

Estimate a three-day job.

There may be some painting that needs to be done after the patching.

D.

HVAC

We are looking to see how to isolate the SRO room due to the large number of heat-producing equipment in the room.

 

We should have an estimate by the end of the month.

III. Other Business

A.

ENCUMBERED FUNDS SPREADSHEET ITEMS

Items to consider

  • HVAC--$100K (air handler)
  • Electrical--$10K General annual repairs
  • Technology--$50K (routers)
  • Plumbing--$10K General annual repairs
  • Roof--$??--Estimate needed

B.

USDA Update

We are waiting on an update from Cooper.  Mr. Duncan has been contacting them every few days.
