Mission:

The Mission of Brevard Academy is to prepare its students to achieve academic excellence through the Core Knowledge Sequence. Through a partnership involving students, teachers, and parents the school strives to create citizens with strong moral character and active intellectual inquiry.

Brevard Academy: A Challenge Foundation Academy (BA-CFA) a K-8 public charter school develops and encourages motivated, intellectually curious students who are skilled in critical thinking, individual expression, and problem-solving. From their diverse backgrounds, students accept our challenge to pursue personal and academic excellence. Through this pursuit, they become confident members of their community who lead by serving others.

1.  HVAC update-  need to replace wall sensors with hardwired ones, waiting on estimate. Previous update has improved the system. We have 1 classroom unit with no power to HVAC unit--trying to get an electrician to look at it.

2. Sewage Pump-  one pump went bad, other was clogged recently. waiting on replacement pump cost,  Estimate $3000

3. Emergency Lights-  Electricians needed to replace some backup batteries and ballasts in emergency lights.   

4.  Gym Lights- need to replace some light bulbs, but need a scissors lift to install.  Maybe over a long holiday period?

 

 
  B. Future Projects Discuss Tim Prey 10 m
   

1. Fencing near the edge of the bus lot-   create a barrier across gravel drive?  We May need to wait until the ARTS building project, and/or  paving is completed?

2.  Outdoor Theater -  determine costs and who would  build outdoor theater.

3.  Front Entrance improvements?  -  Annual Safety report has mentioned the large Cypress tree on the front corner of the building blocking several windows. If we remove, what do we replace it with?

Leah Webb has also proposed some trellises  or murals for each side of the  front entrance. 

4. Dumpster Drainage-   Need to install drain/pavement to prevent flooded areas near the dumpster. It is hard to take trash to the dumpster with 2 inches in the way.

5.  Move Playground-  ARTS building would require moving playground-  Estimate $40,000 to move existing,  or move and add more equipment for estimated cost $100,000

6.  Work Vehicle-  Time needed to find and purchase a vehicle?
