Committee Purpose and Norms

The committee has a predictable meeting structure that builds insight, not just reporting.

Lead structured, evidence-based committee meetings that:

  • Analyze progress toward goals
  • Surface root causes
  • Review the effectiveness of Tier 1–3 interventions
  • Identify trends across schools and student groups
  • Monitor leading indicators to prevent end-of-year surprises

Committee members can clearly articulate academic performance status, risks, and progress at any point in the year.

  • DIBELS benchmarks
  • iReady growth
  • NY State ELA & Math proficiency
  • Regents progress
  • SAT college-readiness benchmarks
  • GPA targets

K–8 Update: NYSE ELA & Math Progress

  • KACCSM outperformed last year’s IA performance. KACCSE, KTPE, and KTPM were within 1% of last year’s IA performance. KTVP and KTVM were 12% and 14% away from last year’s IA performance.
  • We have not yet hit our goals and are not on track. If we make the same growth as last year from IA to NYSE, we are still 11% away from our goal (with KACCSM being the closest at 4% away).
  • 8th grade had the largest increase since last year. 3rd, 5th, and 7th grade had the largest decline since last year.
  • 8/18 cohorts had an increase since last year. 4 cohorts are within 5 percent. 6 cohorts are significantly lower than last year.
  • Every school, every grade level, and every cohort is far from the goal.
  • 3rd grade is the only grade where we outperformed last year (3 points higher than last year).
  • There is an incredible spread between classes across the region (High: KTPE 4th Grade–62%; Low: KTVM 6th Grade– 1%)
  • KTPE, KTVP, and KACCSM outperformed last year’s scores. KACCSE is within 1% of last year. KTVM and KTPM are 9% and 12% off from last year.
  • We have to grow more in ASC to hit our goals than we grew last year (if we grow the same, we will be 22% off). 3rd and 4th grade are the only grades “on track” (projected at goal or within 5%).
