Whereas: Empower College Prep has had nearly 20 teaching positions posted since January on multiple sources, and
Whereas: Professors from Grand Canyon University have recommended both graduates and students beginning their student teaching for these positions, and
Whereas: Empower College Prep is aware of other teachers and schools who have used and benefitted from Arizona's allowance for student teachers to be paid and fill teaching positions before obtaining their Bachelor's Degree, and Whereas: Empower College Prep has conducted the full interview process for all candidates regardless of their source, and Whereas: Empower College Prep Elementary School has identified two candidates who are best suited for positions and who are entering their student teaching but have not yet obtained their Bachelor's degree
Therefore, let it be resolved that: The Governing Board approves the Executive Director to sign the Emergency Substitute Certificate allowing the school to hire teachers beginning their Student Teaching but who have not yet obtained their Bachelor's Degree.

Whereas: Genaro Perez has not attended Board meetings for several months, and
Whereas: The Governing Board has recognized his desire to resign from the Board, and Whereas: Genaro Perez has been removed from the Annual Corporation Commission with the May 10th Annual Report filing, and Whereas: The membership needs to be updated with the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools, Therefore, let it be resolved that: Genaro Perez be removed from the Governing Board membership with the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools and all authorizing agencies. |
