Whereas: The construction timeline has less than one month margin between receiving the certificate of occupancy and opening of the school, and Whereas: Beginning demolition during the one month between receiving a Guaranteed Maximum Price Contract and pricing/closing of the bonds can add up to one additional month, and Whereas: The cost of demolition is under $500 and would be reimburseable with bond funds, and Whereas: The school has been reimbursed more than $3M it had used to secure the properties.
Therefore, let it be resolved the Executive Director is authorized to expense up to $500,000 for demolition costs related to the construction of Empower College Prep High School - Maryvale. |
