Call the Meeting to Order

S. Wilson called a meeting of the Scholar Experience Committee of Butler Academy to order on Thursday Mar 28, 2024 at 7:15 PM.

Approve Minutes

S. Hill made a motion to approve the minutes from February Scholar Experience February Committee Meeting on 02-22-24.
S. Wilson seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

Discussion about this item has been pushed to the next committee meeting

Meeting with School Leaders

As the school is still on Spring Break, the committee plans to communicate with the president and provost upon the return to school.

III. Update Committee Goals and Action Items

A.

Committee Mtng Dates for the remainder of the year

The committee plans to meet on the last Thursday of each month, virtually via Google Meet. This means that the April meeting will take place on 4/25, and the May meeting on 5/30, etc.

B.

Request disciplinary data from this academic year

The committee requests the disciplinary reports from both the Fall and Spring semesters to compare behavioral responses since adapting the updated Student and Family Handbook. The committee also seeks clarification as to which behaviors are recorded in disciplinary reports.

C.

Create Committee Timeline of Business

Fall semester includes discussion/check in with current provost and/or other school leadership about how they are monitoring and supporting current faculty in the aims of improving classroom management.

Spring semester includes comparing disciplinary reports to previous academic years to monitor the alignment of daily practices with published policy.
