S. Mohamed called a meeting of the board of directors of Wonderful College Prep Academy to order on Thursday Sep 26, 2024 at 5:10 PM.

Board Chair Mohamed asked the Board to consider a vote to move the following agenda item: Regular Agenda Items IV-F to be presented at the next Board Meeting.

G. Adame made a motion to move the following agenda item: Regular Agenda IV-F to be presented at our next scheduled Board Meeting, October 24, 2024.

K. Tomono made a motion to approve the appointment of Victoria Casales as Board Member.

G. Adame seconded the motion.

Ms. Casales, a long-time Lost Hills community member and parent of a WCPA-Lost Hills 11th grader, she works at the Kern County Department of Human Services and has been a dedicated volunteer at WCPA, actively participating in Parent Advisory Committee meetings and advocating for students. Ms. Casales will serve as the Lost Hills parent representative.

B. Action Item: Appointment of Daniela Barreto as Board Member

E. Unruh made a motion to approve the appointment of Daniela Barreto as Board Member.

K. Tomono seconded the motion.

Ms. Barreto, a Delano community member and parent of three WCPA students, she works as a secretary for a local small business, allowing her to be actively involved in her children's education. Ms. Barreto will serve as the Delano parent representative.

A. Information Item: 2023-24 SBAC Data Review

Chief Academic Officer Megan Palomo provided an academic update, focusing on NWEA student progress on Math and ELA from Fall 2024-2025 school year.

A. Information Item: Monthly Business Report for July & August 2024 - Delano

Chief Business Officer, Mike Romero presented the updated monthly business report for the months of July and August for the Delano Campus.

B. Information Item: Monthly Business Report for July & August 2024 - Lost Hills

Chief Business Officer, Mike Romero presented the updated monthly business report for the months of July and August for the Lost Hills Campus.

C. Action Item: Approval of Unaudited Financial Statements (23-24) - Delano

G. Adame made a motion to ratify the Unaudited Financial Statements (23-24) for Wonderful College Prep Academy.

D. Barreto seconded the motion.

Chief Business Officer, Mike Romero presented the request to approve the Unaudited Financial Statements (23-24) for Wonderful College Prep Academy. The Academy must submit unaudited financial statements to the Kern County Superintendent of Schools (KCSOS) by September 15, 2024.

E. Action Item: Approval of Actual EPA Expenditures - Delano and Lost Hills

D. Barreto made a motion to approve the actual EPA Expenditures for Wonderful College Prep Academy (Delano) and Wonderful College Prep Academy - Lost Hills.

K. Tomono seconded the motion.

Chief Business Officer Romero presented the request for approval of the actual EPA expenditures for Wonderful College Prep Academy (Delano) and Wonderful College Prep Academy - Lost Hills. Revenues from Proposition 30/55 were deposited into the Education Protection Account (EPA), with the Governing Board approving the 2023-24 Spending Plan on June 27, 2023. By year-end, Delano received $2,919,950 and Lost Hills $101,484, both of which were allocated to certificated salary costs. Report will be posted on the WCPA website.

F. Action Item: Approval of Agreement No.2024/25-03 with Vestis for Uniform & Cleaning Supplies

V. Regular Agenda - Policies and Compliance

A. Action Item: Approval of School/Family Compact - Delano and Lost Hills

E. Unruh made a motion to approve the School and Family Compact for Wonderful College Prep Academy (Delano) and Wonderful College Prep Academy - Lost Hills.

K. Tomono seconded the motion.

Executive Director of Programming and Partnerships, Lupe Sanchez, presented the School and Family Compact, which outlines shared responsibilities for student academic achievement. It is distributed annually to families for review and agreement and incorporates the Parent and Family Engagement Policy. The Parent Advisory Committee reviewed the 2024 Compact for Wonderful College Prep Academy (Delano) on September 17 and for Wonderful College Prep Academy - Lost Hills on September 18, with no substantive changes.

B. Action Item: Approval of School/Parent Engagement Policy - Delano and Lost Hills

G. Adame made a motion to approve the School and Parent Engagement Policy for Wonderful College Prep Academy (Delano) and Wonderful College Prep Academy - Lost Hills.

Executive Director Lupe Sanchez presented the Parent and Family Engagement Policy which outlines how WCPA partners with families to offer engagement opportunities, use their feedback to guide federal and state funding decisions, and ensure compliance with funding requirements. The Policy was reviewed and updated with feedback from the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) on September 17, 2024, for Wonderful College Prep Academy (Delano) and September 18, 2024, for Wonderful College Prep Academy - Lost Hills.

Superintendent Aguilar presented brief update on recent and upcoming student and schoolwide events.

The Board has requested that the WCPA administration invite the student highlighted in the presentation to the December Board of Directors meeting, which will be held at the Delano Campus.
