Call the Meeting to Order

A. Harrison called a meeting of the board of trustees of Albany Leadership Charter School for Girls to order on Wednesday Aug 26, 2026 at 4:05 PM.

Approve Minutes

M. Moree made a motion to approve the minutes.
E. Bowman seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

D.

Handbook Approvals & Mission revision statement for 2026-27

M. Moree made a motion to approve the Athletic Handbook.
E. Robertson seconded the motion.

With directions to make changes as sent via email or through discussion

The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
M. Moree made a motion to approve the Cultural Handbook.
E. Bowman seconded the motion.

with direction to amend the handbook per discussion and comments received via email.  It was noted that the section on AI should be removed and reworked, and include definitions so all are using the policy with the same set of expectations.  It was also noted that the cultural handbook could be improved with a focus on sisterhood and leadership.

The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
E. Robertson made a motion to approve the Employee Handbook.
M. Moree seconded the motion.

The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
E. Robertson made a motion to approve the Instructional Handbook.
E. Bowman seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
E. Robertson made a motion to approve the revised Mission Statement as prepared by Ms. Smith.
E. Harris seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Accountability

A.

Accountability Report

Ms. Smith provided an update on enrollment, noting that there is a target group of 373 applications.  As of the meeting date, 187 completed enrollments had been received, 146 registered but had not yet started, 38 started but not yet complete.  

 

She also updated the board on preparations for school opening and is recruiting for a high school math teacher, an ENL teacher for the middle school and a second SPED teacher in the High School.  Recruitment continues for a part time Athletic Director; our current physical education teacher is stepping up while we continue to recruit.  

III. Finance Update

Q4 Financials

Ms. Moree noted that the Q4 financial statement reflects all activity through June 30th.  All required reports to CSI have been submitted and we are finally current.  Introductory meeting with the auditors is complete.  Auditors have sent the field work and preliminary requests of materials needed.  They anticipate commencing field work in mid-September.  Ms. Moree will coordinate with Mr. Brice and Ms. Oldenburg to ensure auditors have materials needed.
