ED Report

MM updated the committee on Liberty St, noting that the transformer was installed on 1/7. Over the next 3-5 weeks, electrical will be coming online and the school will be in position for its Certificate of Occupancy. Many vendors are coming through the building now and MM has a daily meeting at the facility. MM is targeting February break to make the transition. Ideally students will be in for a week and then go on break so the senior team can make adjustments during the vacation week.

For Academic Achievement, there has been some progress as the school approaches Apex. But there still is significant work to be done, particularly with ELA.

LA History showed general improvement from 1st quarter to 2nd

6th ELA showed some improvement but remains off track- needs a push to achieve goals

7th ELA experienced a dip that concerned the team- additional structures put in place

8th ELA also experienced a dip that requires dean intervention and reteaching.

LA Science also needs attention- 8th grade especially concerning as it had a dip in performance. All grades are off track. MM's team has pushed science to analyze data and use strategic plans to help students achieve at a higher level and meet goals.

LA Math is a bright spot with most goals on track in all three grades

Upper Academy

9th Bio had good success after Q1 but dipped Q2. Need to get back on track

10th ELA is partially meeting goals and trending in the right direction. Still off track but good growth occurring.

10th Math was off track and needs to use practice exams and feedback to tailor specified remedial support at students. The team is prepared to do this.

Overall, MM noted that many areas need focused and urgent effort but felt strongly that his team is up to the task.
