ED Report

Modesto shared a number of developments with the AAC based on the midyear ANET assessments. Data is found in the spreadsheet linked below. Some key takeaways were:

Lower Academy dip in ELA scores, particularly multiple choice. School is responding with urgency offering greater coaching and support to teachers and students in need. Tiffani asked if it was more strategy or comprehension that was holding students back. MM responded that the dip was more about strategy, so they were circling back to remind students of strategies that work well for them.

Math scores have improved significantly but are slightly off track overall in 6th and 7th. 8th grade on track.

Science scores are encouraging, especially growth in eighth grade.

EOY reading goals- 6th grade is off track but 7th and 8th are on track. Interventions happening in 6th grade. Celebrate success in 8th.

94% attendance overall is solid, though 3% off internal goal. January very strong after lower December.

Upper Academy working through practice AP's in Human Geography and World History- a lot of work to do here, but teachers are diving in, and admin is coaching up teachers

Literature results showing great growth from 9th to 10th grade

Math has encouraging results, but needs ongoing work. 25% ME and 25% on the cusp

Biology scores have 66% on track

94% attendance in UA YTD

Good family investment with 97% completing survey- favorability rating at 84%, right on cusp of school goal. Extracurriculars in full swing with 59% of students participating. Want to keep increasing this %

MM would give the school a B overall at the midyear and is striving for an A range grade. He will continue to use the data and assign individuals to specific goals, striving for better and better.
