GLOW TRENDS - High favorability % results for priority questions
(1) 90% average favorability for UA
(2) 89% average favorability for whole school

(4) 93% of LA families feel that LACS creates welcoming environment given their background
GROW TREND #1 - Communication gaps across all Lower Academy realms (Ops, SPED, advisory)
GROW TREND #2 - Safety Concerns- bus behavior and "school zone" signs
GROW TREND #3 - Staff & Student Relationships- strong in many ways but always looking to continue to develop
Student Surveys: reveal favorability ratings remain off LACS goals, but they do show excellent growth since start of school in areas of inclusivity in LACS community and excitement about learning

C.

Talent Update

LACS taking effective steps towards new hires. On target as we move into 2022 with good interest in leadership roles from in-house candidates. LACS meeting and exceeding goals in resumes reviewed and invitations for interviews offered. Numbers rising in Round 1 interviews completed

III. Other Business

A.

COVID update

Modesto reviewed the recent complexities the school has managed with the exponential rise of the omicron variant in Springfield. In the first week of school 7 staff (10%) and 37 students tested positive with others out as close contacts or with concern for the virus. The staff have shown flexibility in covering for each other. Attendance dipped below 80%. Lunch served to go this week. To start the second week, lunch will be spread out between the cafeteria and classrooms to limit possibility of spread and contact tracing. Regular testing continues.
Only 3 staff members are unvaccinated- they test twice a week and daily if deemed a close contact.

Respectfully Submitted,
