Goals Dashboard- Q1 and Reading Group Data
Transition- new Dean of Student Support, promoted internally (departure due to spouse relocation)
Modesto pleased with progress towards reading goals. 135 students grew 3 or more levels in Q1 and 250 grew at least one level. 34 already reading at top level. Only 11 showed regression and these students are being reassigned to a group that can focus more on their growth. 60% have met their mid-year goal and 31% have met their end of year goal. Modesto seeing improvements already from last year's MCAS results. ANET results gives teachers quarterly feedback they can use to adjust for MCAS prep.
IEP and ELL students both are at higher risk ratios for failing to meet their reading goals. Supports are in place, such as doubling the time for reading group (including reading as a history lesson) For math, there is more direct teacher intervention and students are pulled for 1 on 1 sessions as needed.
B.
COVID Response and Attendance
Modesto reported attendance at 94%. Good, but not meeting goal of 97%. Absences have been affected by COVID diagnosis and close contact quarantine. Recently approval has come for students who are quarantined to study from home- these students will get credit for attendance if they meet certain benchmarks. Students who need the school time the most have strong attendance records, with IEP's at 98% and 504's at 97%.
