Call the Meeting to Order
N. Barker called a meeting of the Academic Achievement Committee Committee of Libertas Academy Charter School to order on Thursday Oct 7, 2021 at 4:32 PM.

Approve Minutes
T. Curtis made a motion to approve the minutes from Monthly Academic Achievement Committee Meeting on 09-02-21.
N. Barker seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
II. ED Academic Update
A.
General ED Update
Modesto shared his excitement for the Guided Reading program and the energy around the school building.
Biggest Challenges
- Keeping pulse on staff during a difficult year as students enter a new grade/ new school with gaps from the challenges of COVID disruptions
-Enrollment numbers in sixth grade remain lower than expected
-DESE Site Visit upcoming on 10/21
Modesto will update the full board with MCAS data at next board meeting and follow up with AAC at our meeting next month
LCAS COVID response continues to operate in the red grid, but local numbers improving. Modesto is hoping to be able to lift some restrictions going forward. 95% vaccination rate among teachers. Hope for bumping student rate up as time passes and younger ages are approved for vaccine. LCAS community has been supportive of the school's safety protocols.
