Call the Meeting to Order
N. Barker called a meeting of the board of trustees of Libertas Academy Charter School to order on Wednesday May 20, 2026 at 2:06 PM.

Approve Minutes from Previous Meeting
N. Barker made a motion to approve the minutes from Academic Achievement Committee Meeting on 04-15-26.
K. Stewart seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

Yanela updated the committee on Lower Academy
Students are showing impressive grit as they power through testing season
60 families came to orientation for 2026-27 orientation- great turnout! 23 staff also volunteered their time in an powerful display of loyalty and dedication to LACS. In part, staff was able to flag IEP's that they were not previously aware of and begin support plan work
Teacher retention and talent work is on track
Org health is at 85% on track
Parent Survey is at 95% on track
Reading goals- LA is looking to get better feedback next year and exploring options
Attendance - CA at 18%, improvement by 6% from last month!
Summer school consequence for CA in place and will be stressed increasingly with incoming students and in the fall
IEP compliance continues to be excellent
Culture resets have worked with ISS and OSS % on track
Goals for 26-27: Student Leadership development, Advisory program, Stage 2 of teacher evals
Dan updated the committee on Upper Academy-
10th ELA preliminary Mult Choice report has LACS above state average!
AP exams are complete
Math MCAS had to pivot after heat advisory but good attendance and attitude with rescheduling
Bio upcoming in June- last check in scores were looking great with strong improvement
Attedance- CA down to 25%- hoping to reduce to 20% by end of year. SPS average is 30%
College- commitments are in place and signing day is next week. Great energy and excitement as LACS heads towards graduation
Affordable college options that were sustainable for 4 year plan was the emphasis- Dan is excited about how choices are lining up for the class of 2026
